What is laser IPL?
IPL laser works by emitting high intensity pulses of light to penetrate the skin to perform such treatments as hair removal, thread vein, pigmentation, acne correction, collagen tightening, blemishes and rosacea.
What is skin rejuvenation?
Skin rejuvenation enhances the skin’s natural appearance, leaving it looking younger and fresher. It successfully treats skin problems including: acne, rosacea, sun-damage, fine lines and wrinkles, broken capillaries, age spots, blemishes and collagen tightening.
What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal works by destroying the base of the hair follicle and source of new hair growth using pulses of light. After a treatment session, the hairs will fall out.
Laser for Thread vein correction.
You don’t have to cover those thread veins anymore. IPL thread vein removal uses short, safe bursts of light emitted from a flash-lamp to quickly remove those thin veins from the face and body. A thread vein is a small blood vessel near the surface of the skin. The operator guides the visible light from the flash lamp to the blood vessels needing treatment. Blood contains hemoglobin that absorbs the light and converts it into heat. This heat destroys the protein in the wall of the tread vein. As a result the veins will gradually, and safely, disappear after the treatment.
Laser for pigmentation.
For pigmented lesions such as sun damage spots, red spots, age spots and blemishes results become apparent after a course of between 3-6 treatments. With treatment, the pigmented area turns slightly darker and grayish, after which they become “crusty” and simply flake off within 3-7 days leaving perfectly virgin skin underneath. Immediately following most laser procedures, some patients may experience some redness of the treated area, which usually disappears within a few hours. Depending on the underlying medical conditions and lifestyle factors that give rise to these pigmented lesions, periodic maintenance treatments may be needed for optimal results.
Laser for Acne.
Acne is a very common skin disorder that most young people get in early puberty. Acne typically develops during adolescence, when hormonal changes cause the enlargement and obstruction of sebaceous glands by bacteria in the skin, causing acne. These multiply deep in the hair follicle and produce inflamed pus-filled spots. Post adolescent acne is on the rise. We are now seeing that acne can persist into the late twenties and thirties or even beyond. Some people are now getting acne for the first time as adults.
How Does IPL work for acne?
The laser kills the acne bacteria that cause infection and which lead to the formation of spots. As the whole face is usually treated the bacteria are killed over a wide area reducing breakout and stopping infection spreading. The laser works by heating up the lower layers of the skin producing collagen that stimulates a healing response. This acts as a new foundation for the skin, reducing scarring and improving skin tone. For the more severe acne disorders such as inflammatory acne IPL will not cure the condition, although it will provide a rapid reduction in the number of active acne spots, with improvement lasting up to 3 months. Further treatments may be necessary, or a course of Microdermabrasion treatments may be recommended to maintain the condition of the skin.
Is IPL Painful?
Our IPL laser is the latest water and air cooled system, making the treatment pain free. No anaesthetic is required and many patients describe the feeling as being similar to that of a rubber band flicking the skin, followed by a warm sensation.
